This is in response to Laura Starbird’s letter Dec. 27 regarding the displacement of Lisa Fortier and her children.

First of all, Starbird should hear both sides of the story before she decides to call George Schott heartless, cruel and mean-spirited.

Schott did give a 60-day notice to Fortier. He also offered her a month’s free rent if she could move sooner, but, legally, she has her 60 days if that’s what she chooses to do. Schott said a mistake had been made in that he did not realize the work would start so soon and took full responsibility for that.

Besides that, I feel that anyone who would have her young son hold a sign that says “Help me” is looking for money and should be ashamed of using him in such a way.
