AVON – A Mass of Christian Burial for Sea Captain John Stanley Cottle, of Avon, was held Thursday morning, Dec. 29, 2005, from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Farmington, with Rev. Roger Chabot as celebrant, following a prayer service at the Wiles Remembrance Center. Lee Ann Tinker was organist. A personal eulogy was given by friend, John Caton. Ronald Pinkham was honorary pallbearer. Pallbearers included Lawrence Pinkham, Joseph Pinkham, David Pinkham, Todd Colburn, Everett Bartlett and Paul Bubier. Following mass, a reception, hosted by the Altar Guild, was held in the Parish Hall. Winter entombment at the funeral home. Spring burial at the Pinkham Hill Cemetery, Phillips.
