KINGFIELD – There’s a new hair salon in town, and owner/operator Kim Newell is offering services for the whole family.

“I offer cuts, perms, colors, skin care, manicures and pedicures as well as facial waxing,” she says, “and I really specialize in women, men and children.”

Kim’s Kreations is located at 333 Main St., in the former carriage house at the Brick Castle. She has transformed a former doctor’s office waiting room into a bright and cheerful salon space.

“This is a great location for me,” she says. “I’ve been busy ever since I started here and to me, that’s a huge plus.”

The salon opened early last month, Newell says, and she is enjoying the busy pace and meeting new people every day. In addition, she has a faithful clientele from the Farmington area that has followed her to the new shop in Kingfield.

Newell has 10 years experience in the hair salon business, nine of which she spent working in the Farmington area. In her new shop, she also stocks numerous hair and skin care products for customers to purchase.

“I’ve always wanted to own my own business,” Newell says, “and when the opportunity came up for this great location, I couldn’t pass it up. It’s been wonderful so far.”

Kim’s Kreations is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 7 to 11 a.m. Saturdays. Appointments may be made by calling 265-2470; Newell does welcome walk-ins but can’t always guarantee a free schedule.
