Shabbat service

Forum speaker

WILTON – Sandy Gregor of SeniorsPlus will speak at the Wilton Community Forum Breakfast to be held from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, at the First Congregational Church, Main Street. Her topic will be “Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit: Too Important to Ignore.” She will describe the new federal program, and discuss the registration process.

A hot buffet breakfast will be served. The monthly breakfast series is open to the public. Admission is free.

CPR course

FARMINGTON – Registration is being accepted for a community cardiopulmonary resuscitation course to be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, in the Walden Room, Franklin Memorial Hospital.

The course, which is the Healthcare Provider Module, will follow the standards and guidelines for CPR from the American Heart Association and is designed for the public. It will include information on basic cardiac life support techniques for adults, children and infants, as well as instruction on auto electronic defibrillators.

The course must be attended in its entirety in order to receive certification. The fee is $40 and includes a textbook. Class size is limited and preregistration and a pretest are required before attending.

Noon luncheon

FARMINGTON – Old South First Congregational Church will serve its monthly free community luncheon from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14.

The menu will include chicken stew over biscuits, coleslaw and homemade pie.

Delivery service will be available in the area. Call the church office, 778-0424, during the week or the church kitchen, 778-4438, on the morning of the luncheon for delivery.
