LEWISTON – Sandra F. Desjardins, 64, of Lake Street, Sabattus, died Thursday, Jan. 5, at Central Maine Medical Center with her family by her side.
Born in Lewiston on Feb. 5, 1941, the daughter of Joseph and Sarah (Currie) Creighton. She graduated from the Sabattus school system and worked for many years at Geiger Bros. in the shipping department as a packer.
Sandy married Roland W. Desjardins on Oct. 13, 1979, and together they lived on Sabattus Lake.
She was a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 135 in Sabattus. She enjoyed doing her crossword puzzles, playing cards with her friends from the American Legion and spending time at her camp at Moosehead Lake with her husband and friends where she enjoyed feeding the deer. She enjoyed going on trips with her senior citizen group, especialy when they went horseback riding.
She leaves her husband of 26 years, Roland, of Sabattus; one daughter, Jennifer Brown and her husband, Kevin, of Turner; two sons, Keith Smith, of Litchfield and Stephen Smith and his companion, Pauline Fazekas, of Lisbon Falls; five step-children, Diane Brown and her husband, Larry, of Buckfield, Brenda Larson and her husband, JD, of Valva ND, Linda Gilley, of Lewiston, Theresa Desjardins, of Brunswick and Richard Desjardins and wife, Kelly, of Brunswick; and 17 grandchildren.
