HESSTON, Kansas – The wedding of Robin Duerksen and Brandon Halsey Murray was held on Oct. 22 at the Fellowship of Kingdom Life Ministries Church in Hesston, Kansas. Pastor Jeff Waugh officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Murray is the daughter of Peter and Carol Duerksen of Lindsborg, Kansas, and the late Delia Duerksen. Mr. Murray is the son of Katherine Brunjes of Bethel and Joseph and Nancy Murray of Brunswick.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an ivory strapless satin ball gown with fitted bodice, embellished with seed pearls and crystal beading. The train was embellished with seed pearls and crystal beading and she carried a bouquet of burgundy Calla lilies and roses.

Mindy Duerksen was maid of honor for her sister, and bridesmaids were Valerie Duerksen, sister-in-law of the bride, and Beth Klinge, friend of the bride. Junior attendant was Sarah Lerch, daughter of a friend of the bride, and flower girl was Avery Blauvelt, a cousin of the bride.

Attendants for the bridegroom were Matthew Brunsen, cousin of the bridegroom, and Jay Brunjes, uncle of the bridegroom, and ushers were Jeremy Duerksen and Terry Giltner, brothers of the bride. Ring bearer was Blake Bontrager, cousin of the bride.

Lindsay Murray, sister of the bridegroom, gave a reading. Reception servers were Frieda Schmidt and Wilma Copeland, aunts of the bride.

A reception followed at the Water’s Edge Resort in Hesston, Kansas, after which the couple traveled to Miami, Fla. They are residing in Princeton, N.J.

The bride is a 1996 graduate of Hillsboro High School in Hillsboro, Kansas, and Health Choices Holistic Massage in Hillsborough, N.J. She is a professional nanny for two children in Princeton, N.J.

The bridegroom is a 1994 graduate of Lake Region High School and a 2000 graduate of Endicott College in Beverly, Mass., with a bachelor’s degree in sports management. He is employed as club house manager for the Somerset Patriots Baseball organization (an Atlantic League team) in Bridgewater, N.J.
