AUBURN – Mary Hoffman Tripp, 46, of Turner, died Friday, Jan. 6, at the Hospice House in Auburn following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Lewiston on Nov. 15, 1959, the daughter of Wayne and Esther Hoffman of Turner.

She married Clayton “Skip” Tripp on Sept. 24, 1977. They raised two daughters, Anna Tripp of Turner and Heather Benson of Leeds.

Mary was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her life was her grandson, Mackinnley Tripp, and granddaughter, Haylee Benson.

She loved going to bingo and going places with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Clayton Tripp, of Turner; two daughters, Anna Tripp of Turner, and Heather Benson and her husband, Edward, of Leeds; two grandchildren, Mackinnley Tripp of Turner and Haylee Benson of Leeds; her parents, Wayne and Esther Hoffman of Turner; two sisters, Sherry Nichols and her husband, Randy, of Fayette, and Tabatha Hoffman and her companion, Shane McLaughlin, of Jay; one brother, Duane Hoffman and his wife, Paula, of Houlton; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her grandparents, Joseph and Roxie Rackliff, Albert Hoffman, Cora Hoffman; and step grandmother, Hilda Hoffman.
