This letter is in response to the letter by Sharon Clark printed Jan. 3.

Clark is right – there are two sides to each story. I feel as though her side could have been told in a different way. There was no need to demean Lisa Fortier. Clark does not know what it’s like to be going through such an experience.

Fortier is a very private person, and she used to live in a private home surrounded by trees and behind her closed doors, until recently when her surroundings were torn down and her life turned upside down. Clark has no idea what my friend is going through. Lisa’s kids are suffering more than anybody, and she would never, ever, use them to get money. Through this all, Lisa has refused money and handouts. All she is looking for is a place that she and her children can call home.

To set the record straight, Lisa is a respected women at her workplace and has the support of her staff that backs her and knows that she’s a great mother just trying to do the best she can with what was handed to her.

She’s not asking for sympathy and does not want money. She appreciates all that everyone has done for her and struggles with ways to thank everyone.
