AUGUSTA – Barbara True Tabb, 85, a resident of Gray Birch Rehabilitation Center, died after a long illness on Friday, Jan. 6, at the Gray Birch Facility.
She was born on June 8, 1920, in Augusta, the daughter of Orrin T. True and Mildred Doe True.
She attended Fryeburg Academy, and graduated from Erskine Academy and was salutatorian of her class. She also attended Farmington Normal School and worked as a bookkeeper most of her life.
She married Edmund F. Tabb in September 1943. They lived in Maine and Connecticut.
Barbara was a member of the Eastern Star in Weeks Mills. She enjoyed cooking, decorating, arts and crafts and crossword puzzles. Barbara was always the life of the party and enjoyed life to its fullest.
Barbara will be greatly missed by her friends, family and especially her grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
She is survived by her daughter, Ann Tabb Pierce and her husband, Emery, of Windsor; a son, Foster and his wife, Judy, of Andover; a son, Jeffery and fiance, Leane McMaster, of Chelsea; five grandchildren, Scott Tabb, Jayme Wardwell, Sean Pierce, and Tyler and Derek Tabb; and great-granddaughter, Brooke Wardwell. Also surviving is a sister, Madolyn True Taber of Pahrump, Nev.; and a brother, Philip C. True of Windsor; and a special friend, Druscilla Call of Grey Birch.
She was predeceased by her parents, and husband, Edmund.
The family is grateful to Dr. John Woytowicz, Terry Piscura, L.S.W., and the staff at Gray Birch facility for the excellent care extended to Barbara.
