First service

NORWAY – Area residents will hold their first Sunday service on Sunday, Jan. 15, at the newly-built Christian Science Church, corner of Morrill Road and Route 118, kitty corner from the Norway Country Club.

From now on, First Church of Christ, Scientist, Sunday services and Sunday school will be held at 10 a.m. in the new location.

Michaud’s hours

BETHEL – In an effort to assist constituents throughout the Second District, Congressman Michael Michaud has announced community office hours for the Bethel region.

Andrea Quaid, Michaud’s district representative, will be available from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, at the Bethel Town Office. For more information, contact Monica Castellanos at 782-3704.

Fundraiser

OXFORD – The Resistance Ministries will have a Chinese Auction fundraiser on Saturday, Jan. 28, featuring hundreds of new items at the Hosanna Church building. The doors will open at 11 a.m.. and tickets will be drawn at 12:30 p.m.

Everyone who buys tickets is guaranteed to win something.

There will be a dollar table and grab bags, and food will be available for purchase. A snow date has been set for Saturday, Feb. 4.

Youth campaign

PARIS – Oxford County 4-H has started a youth development campaign in partnership with the state Pine Tree Foundation to insure that the many 4-H programs can continue in the future. Store to help FD

NORWAY – Aubuchon Hardware will host its fifth annual Community Appreciation Day on Saturday, Jan. 14. Proceeds will help raise money for the Norway Fire Department.

During the day, Aubuchon donates a portion of proceeds from all sales of the day to benefit the local organization chosen by the store manager.

PARIS – The Oxford Hills District lunch menu has been announced for Jan. 11 to 13. Milk is served with meals, and menus are subject to change without notice.

Wednesday: shepherd’s pie, dinner roll, sliced peaches.

Thursday: meatball sub with cheese, green beans, sliced pears.

Friday: hot dog with roll, baked beans, applesauce.
