LEWISTON – The Lewiston CareerCenter announced it will sponsor a series of informational sessions and workshops for employers in 2006. The series will highlight the various programs available to employers through the CareerCenter and its partners.

The series for January-March schedule is as follows:

Jan. 25 from 10 to 11 a.m.: Work Opportunity Tax Credit. This informational session will explain the benefits of applying for the Work Opportunity Tax Credit. Register by Jan. 13.

Feb. 15 from 10 to 11 a.m.: Employee Retention. This workshop will demonstrate what it takes to retain employees in today’s business environment. Based on a program created in collaboration with Central Maine Community College. Register by Feb. 3.

March 22 from 9 to 11 a.m.: Apprenticeship. This session will cover the benefits and responsibilities associated with the Maine Apprenticeship Program. Register by March 10.

Sessions will be held at the Lewiston CareerCenter, 5 Mollison Way. These sessions are free, however, registration is required. Phone the CareerCenter at (207) 753-9001 to register or for more information.
