FARMINGTON – School board members voted Tuesday to establish an office management position for Mt. Blue High School’s main office. Principal Joe Moore made the request.
This mid-year alteration of the high school’s administration will allow Moore and all the teachers and staff at Mt. Blue to better serve their students, Moore suggested.
“My rationale is really simple,” he said. Above all, he said, “I am dedicated to spending time with my teachers and student. But that doesn’t mean ignoring my duties as an administrator.”
Moore plans to fill the position with one of the administrators already working at the school and said a few people have already indicated interest in the job.
The school board voted to grant half-year sabbatical leave to American Sign Language teacher Lorraine Lewis for school year 2006-07. Lewis plans to spread her leave out over the full year, teaching half time during both the fall and spring. On her off days, she plans to take courses toward her certification as an ASL interpreter.
School board members also voted unanimously to approve plans for the senior class trip to Attitash Mountain in New Hampshire.
