The Leavitt area local legend, Specter, has gone back into action and is writing its third album right now. When I asked the band’s front man, Jeff Beam, how he feels about it he said, “I’m overly joyed to be back in the studio. I love the writing process; it allows my creativity to flow.”

This band has three members; Jeff Beam, Chris Hill, and Tom Rodrigue. They have been together since 2001 except for Tom, who joined in 2003. When asked what they were focusing on for the new album Jeff replied, “Making every song on the album unique from all of the other tracks.”

I also asked Jeff what he thought about their upcoming show with Headstart and The Invention on January 27th at Leavitt Area High School, to which he said, “It will be a good time; we had a blast when we played with them before.”

I then proceeded to ask Jeff how he felt and what he thought about playing with a band that is so musically different from Specter. He told me, “Its great to play with bands of different genres because it brings together entirely different groups of people, which exposes all the bands to different crowds and potential new fans.”

I will personally be attending this show and look forward to witnessing Specter first hand. Expect their new album, called “Today Is A Repeat,” to be out in early 2006. Specter’s goal is to have over 20 songs on the LP. Unfortunately they won’t be able to play all 20 plus songs at the show, so I guess you’ll just have to buy the album if you want to hear them all. Specter’s second album, “Every Strength In My Body,” is available at Bull Moose Music.
