AUBURN – The Corporate and Community Services Department of Central Maine Community College will offer its Supervisory Skills Training for Health Care Workers (CCS 023-01) through its Health Care Leadership Institute beginning Wednesday, Jan. 25.

The program will be offered from 8 a.m. to noon four consecutive Wednesdays through Feb. 15. The cost of $265 includes materials.

The training is designed to provide supervisors and managers from a variety of health care settings with an overview of core supervisory skills.

Topics will include communications and teamwork; resolving conflicts at work; problem-solving and decision-making; and leading and managing others.

“We have seen great results with this program with larger hospitals and health care facilities that have brought this training program on site for their management teams.” said Susan Lavers, corporate training coordinator. “We wanted to offer this program to smaller health care organizations that may only have one or two supervisors on their staff who wish to enhance their supervisory skills.”

The series will be taught by Ken O’Brien. O’Brien works closely with Central Maine Community College to offer classes for the public and custom training programs for businesses.

His experience includes more than 15 years as a consultant, during which he served businesses throughout New England with training in customer service, sales, supervision and computers.

To register, contact Jennifer Lyons, corporate and community services, at 755-5280 or e-mail training@cmcc.edu. Visit www.cmcc.edu/training for complete descriptions.
