AUBURN – A passenger on a city school bus suffered minor injuries Tuesday morning when the bus collided with a parked car, police said.

Kassandra Reynolds, 24, who served as a bus monitor, complained of chest pain.

Neither of the other two passengers, nor the driver, Claire B. Poirier, 64, of 70 Summer St., was injured.

The bus was northbound on Main Street, near Vine Street, when Poirier slammed on her brakes in an effort to avoid an unidentified oncoming vehicle, lost control of the bus and skidded into the car.

The 2003 Volkswagen, belonging to Stephanie L. Martin, 35, of 599 Court St., was parked illegally on the side of the street, police reports said. The impact caused $5,000 damage to her car.
