REVERE, Mass. (AP) – The New England Confectionary Co. on Wednesday unveiled 10 new sayings to be spelled out on its traditional Valentine’s Day heart candies, including the sweet promise, “Home Soon,” and the saltier suggestion, “Go Home.”

The company emphasized its home theme this year with other phrases, including “House Party,” “Home Run,” “Call Home,” “Sweet Home,” and “Home Sick.”

NECCO President and CEO Domenic Antonellis said the home theme was developed with the troops in Iraq in mind, as a nonpartisan statement about the love they bring home.

The company also added “ILU,” short for “I Love You,” as well as the preposition “to” and conjunction “and” so people could connect the more than 100 candy phrases.

For instance, NECCO candy communicators can now spell out “Kiss Me To Be Mine.”

“We are always looking for new sayings that inspire and encourage sweethearts to communicate their sentiments in new ways,” NECCO marketing manager Lory Zimbalatti said in a statement.

NECCO, based in Revere, Mass., has been making the Sweethearts Conversation Hearts since 1866.
