LEWISTON – The Lewiston Middle School Ice Dawgs hockey teams have enjoyed success in their maiden season in the Southern Maine Middle School Hockey League.

The varsity team is 7-1-2 and in first place, after defeating NYA 4-3, Scarborough 2-1, and Portland 2-1. Team members are Michael Bouchard, TJ Ferland, Ryan Lemelin, Matt Lemare, Scott Ouellette, Sam Cloutier, Cody Chadwick, Colt Steele, Cam Poussard, Donne Larrivee, Dylan Rodrigue, Nick Mathon, Dylan Pomerleau, Alex Parker, Connor Anthoine and Troy Cailler. The team is coached by Bob Parker, Gerry Letourneau and Steve Rodrigue. Team administrators are Bridget Cailler and Ray Teixeira.

The Lewiston jayvee team (7-0) has been in total comand with powerful wins against Westbrook 11-1, Greely 12-2, and Scarborough 16-0. Team members are Devon Beland, Rich Belanger, Evan Carrier, Derrick Doucette, Cam Fillion, Joel Frenette, Jeff Keene, Kevin Lavertu, Jesse Leeman, Matt Levesque, Chris Madden, Cody Rodrigue, Reece Teixeira, Albie Therrien, Matt Therrien and Frankie Welch. Coaches are Paul Beland, Bill Plourde and John Therrien.

Auburn Youth League

AUBURN – The Auto 74 Repo’s Peewee team earned 2 wins in recent action. Auburn beat the Maranacook Bears 3-1 at Kents Hill. Elijah Lamothe, Joe Greco and Brady Lare each scored a goal. Assists went to Nick Labbe, Trevor Haley and Danny Poisson. Goalie Shane Cloutier made 12 saves. Tyler Bryant netted the Maranacook goal. . . Repo’s rolled past Downeast Devil of the Midcoast League 6-1. Lamothe and Lare both collected 2 goals and an assist. Also lighting the lamp were Poisson and Cam Bennett. Cloutier was the winning goalie. Others credited with assists were Adam Healy (2), Haley, Labbe (2) and Lamothe.
