LEWISTON – Leona B. Gammon, 92, of Hebron died Tuesday, Jan. 10, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Buckfield on Nov. 7, 1913, the daughter of Ernest and Bessie Turner Buck. She graduated from Buckfield High School in 1931. She married Woodrow Gammon in May of 1935.

In 2005, they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. She had been employed at Hebron Sanatorium, Poland Spring Hotel and Portland Packing Co.

She was town clerk for the town of Hebron and had worked at West Minot Post Office. She was a member of the West Minot Grange and a former member of the Dwinal Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband of Hebron; two sons, Calvin and his wife, Ruth, of Livermore and Franklin and his friend, Shirley Cummings, of Hebron; a daughter, Freda Gaw and her husband, David, of Guilford; six grandchildren, Ann Devinney, of New Hampshire, Kay Gammon, of Delaware, Brian Gaw, of Dover Foxcroft, Cary Gosselin, of Colorado, Alan Gaw, of South Carolina and Neal Gammon, of Gorham; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Stanley Buck, of California; and a sister, Olive Record, of West Minot.

She was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Harold Buck; and a sister, Crystal Trundy.
