For most, just thinking about cleaning the house is enough to wear us out. The Feb. 1 issue of Woman’s Day magazine highlights five changes that will make housework easier, including:
1. Remove one appliance from your kitchen counter or fridge top. Fewer items out means fewer items to clean – or clean around.
2. Arrange kitchen cupboards so glasses and plates are closest to the dishwasher.
3. Set the kitchen timer every evening for a five-minute family pick-up clutter session.
4. Stock each bathroom with cleaning supplies, including rubber gloves. If there’s room, keep a mop and bucket in there, too.
5. Tuck a stepladder into a closet on each floor of the house to make it faster to do “reach” jobs. Also, consider keeping a vacuum cleaner, or at least a mini-vac or power broom, on each level so you don’t have to cart the vacuum up and down the stairs every time you need it.
