LEWISTON – Teachers involved with six projects in four Lewiston schools will receive awards in a ceremony at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, at Lepage Conference Center. In addition, the Sally DeWolfe Memorial Award will be given to three teachers from the Lewiston Adult Education Adult Learning Center.

The master of ceremonies will be Peter Geiger, Lewiston Education Fund founding board member. In addition to presenting the awards, he will show a PowerPoint presentation on the fund.

Refreshments prepared by the Lewiston Regional Technical Center’s culinary arts program will be served.

The fund is a nonprofit organization created to fund projects and programs that expand educational opportunities, foster creativity and enhance academic excellence in Lewiston’s public schools.

Funds are generated from individual and corporate tax-deductible contributions, as well as from foundations. Board members are Margaret Rotundo, chairwoman, Leon Levesque, secretary, Richard Albert, Filomena Day, Peter Geiger John Bouchles and Joseph Poirier.

Longley School: grade six, Jeopardy, Linda Atkins.

Montello School: Montello Kids Care, June Foster and Linda Gajowski.

Pettengill School: Up Close and Personal, Lyn Heath and Tammy Randall.

Lewiston High School: Radiation and Safety, Jonathan Swan, Pamela Perry and Tyson Reissfelder; Snowshoe Program, Regis Beaulieu, Carrie Quagliaroli and Payson Swan.

Lewiston Adult Education Adult Learning Center: Civic Participation, Kate Brennan.

Sally DeWolfe Memorial Award

Health Curriculum: Diane Malinski, Kelley Rudd and Kate Brennan.
