AUBURN – Julie E. (Rita) Dower, 90, a resident of 480 Minot Ave., Auburn, died early Friday morning, Jan. 13, at Clover Manor Health Care Facility after a long illness.

She was born in Auburn, Aug. 10, 1915, the daughter of Robert and Julia (Demers) Eccles. She attended Auburn schools and was a graduate of Edward Little High School.

After school, she worked for Pratt and Whitney in Hartford, Conn. most of her life. She retired to Ogunquit and then Augusta with her husband, Harold Dower, who died in 1978. She then moved to Mechanic Falls, where she lived at Bucknam Oaks for 23 years.

Survivors include nieces and nephews.
