LEWISTON – The Lewiston Lady Blue Devils ice hockey team blanked the LHS Alumni 2-0 in a recent contest waged at Ingersoll Arena in Auburn. Katie Avery goaled the shutout. Stephanie Doucette and Katie Cobb scored the goals.

This is the third season of club hockey for the Lady Blue Devils. The team is hoping to be recognized by the MSPA and become a school-sanctioned sport at the end of this year.

Next home game is January 20 at 8:25 p.m. at the Colisee.

Alumni members in attendance from the team’s first season were Meaghan Marcoux, Lindsey Letourneau and Gen Lysen. Hope Blouin, also a charter member of the team, is currently in England and was unable to attend. Eight of nine seniors from last year’s team competed in the alumni game, Danielle Nadeau, Erin Gallagher, Luca Jacobsen, Katherine Lauze, Lauren Ouellette, Heather Stukas, Amanda Michaud and Stephanie Gondek. Jessica Nadeau was unable to participate.

Maranacook Mites win

READFIELD – The Maranacook EJP Mites of the Maranacook Youth Hockey League defeated Gardiner 7-5 in recent action.

Cody Stockford registered a hat trick. Tom Small and Paul Martha popped 2 goals each. Assists went to Ryan Lutrzykowski (2), David Marshall (2), Stockford and James Canwell. Reid Cotnoir scored 2 of the Gardiner goals. Dakota Benson, Ryan Kelley and Jacob Folsom also lit the lamp. Credited with assists were Cotnoir, Donovan Farris and Benson (2). Jack Vickerson was the winning goalie. Tristain Hebert tended net for Gardiner.
