AUBURN – The Corporate and Community Services Department of Central Maine Community College has announced a new program for managers, supervisors and team leaders, “Accelerating Team Productivity.” The program will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Fridays, Jan. 27 through Feb. 17. The cost of $260 includes materials.

“Today’s teams are expected to produce more than ever before, faster than ever before. Leaders are faced with the dilemma of developing enhanced teamwork along faster and faster timelines,” said Susan Lavers, CM corporate training coordinator.

“This 16-hour program is designed to help leaders focus teams on key results and outputs, build energy and momentum toward achieving goals, negotiate on their team’s behalf and handle difficult dynamics within a team that impact performance.”

The program, developed by Achieve Global, is comprised of four modules that explore workplace challenges and the need for accelerating team performance.

The program will be taught by Debra Mattson Gouzie, MSB, MSEd. Gouzie has nearly 10 years of experience in working with adult learners as a coach, program designer/evaluator, work-force development trainer and higher education teacher.

She earned a master’s degree in business from Husson College in 1996 and a master’s degree from the University of Southern Maine in adult education in 2003. In addition to providing work-force development training through the Maine Community Colleges, Gouzie teaches business management and customer relationship management for York County Community College.
