LEWISTON – Barbara Fern Brown, 79, of New Gloucester, died Monday, Jan. 16, in Lewiston.

Born in Auburn, Oct. 30, 1926, the daughter of Arthur and Robertena Lucerne Nichols Higgins, she married E. Parker Brown on Oct. 3, 1953. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker most of her married life.

She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, E. Parker Brown; six sons, Frederick Brown and his wife, Karen, of South Gardiner, Kenneth and his wife, Geneva, of Augusta, Lester and his wife, Cindy, of Portland, James and his wife, Deborah, of Westbrook, Dennis and his companion, Louise Foley and Charles Brown of Portland; one daughter, Cheryl Wilson and her companion, Brett Sessions, of South Paris; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents; and three grandchildren, Daniel Brown and Keelee and Kelly Brown.
