BRUNSWICK – Henry (Hank) Wilfred Pomerleau, 72, of 968 Meadow Road, Bowdoin died Jan. 16, peacefully at Parkview Memorial Hospital with family at his bedside after battling a brief illness with lung cancer.

He was born in Livermore Falls on July 13, 1933, son of Omer Pomerleau and Alfreda Michaud.

He worked in various shoe factories in Livermore Falls, Auburn, Brunswick, Sanford, and Portland. He met his wife, Glenice, while working at Maine Shoe Factory in Brunswick. He worked part-time as a reserve officer for Livermore Falls. He followed his passion and graduated from the Maine Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Academy in Waterville, in 1973. He pursued a career in law enforcement and was employed by the Brunswick Police Department. He retired in 1993, as a detective lieutenant after 20 years of public service.

On July 2, 1966, he married Glenice A. Card of Bowdoin. He enjoyed spending time with family, playing pool, traveling, listening to country music, and trying his luck at casinos.

Survivors include his wife, Glenice; his mother-in-law, Shirley F. Card of Bowdoin; his brothers, Lawrence of Greene; Laurie of Billerica, Mass., Reginald of Mims, Fla., Omer (Jr.) of Minot, Dorian of Leeds; and several children and grandchildren.
