LEWISTON – Roger S. Corbin, 60, of Livermore Falls, died late Sunday evening, Jan. 15, at the Central Maine Medical Center surrounded by his loving family, after a long illness.

He was born Jan. 7, 1946, in Gardiner, a son of Elmore and Marjorie (Davis) Corbin. He was educated in Randolph and Gardiner schools, graduating from Gardiner Area High School.

In 1979, he married Cathy Hodge in Livermore Falls, where they made their home together and raised a family.

A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served in the Seabee’s during a tour in Vietnam and continued to work with Veteran Affairs at the VA Hospital in Togus, where he worked in adjudication with veteran services. He retired in September 2004 after 40 years of service.

When his health permitted, he enjoyed playing golf and most recently loved to do work with his computer, music and most especially taking part in his grandchildrens’ lives with all of their various endeavors.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy, of Livermore Falls; two daughters, Jill Ferland and her husband, Douglas and their children, Kristen and Mathew of Jay and Lori Shink and her husband, Scott and their children Jimmy, Justin and Nathan of Jay; a sister, Lorna Spencer and her husband, Robert, of Wilton; and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; and two sisters, Gertrude Tarr and Irma Bickford.
