Our elected officials seem to find ways to heat the homes and feed the bellies of the poor. They kiss up to the rich so they will receive more money to support campaigns. Now let’s have it thrown in the faces of those in the middle class how Maine gave the least to charities this past holiday season.
Well, know what? The middle class people should be the charity our government is so concerned about. The poor get so much as it is: heating, rent, day care, food and education assistance. The rich don’t have to worry about much, as they dump hundreds of dollars into the gas tanks of their Hummers and heat their million-dollar homes.
The middle-class people get nothing, except for disgusting comments about how cheap and greedy we are for not dishing out more money to the poor.
