CARTHAGE – The town office will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 24, due to a workshop.

Youth meeting

MEXICO – There will be a youth resource meeting at 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23, at the Mexico Recreation Center.

Seniors trip

RUMFORD – Rumford Senior Citizens are sponsoring a trip on Thursday, Jan. 26, to see Black Watch at the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland.

The bus will leave the Senior Center on Congress Street at 3:30 p.m. Dinner will be on their own at the Portland Mall.

Tickets are available until the day of the show, and those interested can sign up at the Rumford Senior Center.

Cost for members is $40, all others $45. For more information, call 364-4700.

Fortune to speak

RUMFORD – Aileen Fortune will speak at the Community Networking meeting at noon Thursday, Jan. 26, at Scrapper’s Domaine, Canal Street.

Her topic will be an overview of “Turn Beauty Inside Out.”

Fortune said she will stay after the meeting to help interested parties in planning a training for Turn Beauty Inside Out, which is a collaborative public awareness and community education campaign focusing on girls and women, body image, media literacy and leadership development. The training will come to the area later in the year.

Flower show

FRYEBURG – A home, garden and flower show will take place on May 19, 20 and 21 at the Fryeburg Fairgrounds

There will be more than 60,000 square feet of home and garden related products, indoor/outdoor exhibits, artists, “Meet the Chefs” cooking series and seminars by Paul Parent, “The Garden Guru.”
