BOSTON – Dolores Paradis of Lewiston, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at Massachusetts General Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Nov. 1, 1928, in Lewiston. She was the daughter of Ernest and Roseanna Cote Bergeron. She attended Holy Family School. She worked at the Bates Mill, Lou Rod Candy, and lastly at the Chapel at Marcotte Nursing Home before retiring in 1983.

She met the love of her life, Arthur “Don,” at the young age of 8. She and Don were married on April 19, 1952, at Holy Family Church in Lewiston. Together, they had two children, Roger and Rita. They also opened their home to her niece, Lucille, when Lucille was 1 1/2 years old and raised her as their own daughter. She was a devoted and loving mother. Her family was the light of her life.

She was also a loving and devoted grandmother. Her grandchildren loved and adored their Memere. She loved spending time with them and doing special things for and with them. They loved her sense of humor and that she would always take the time to do fun things with them.

She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially at the beach. Her favorite places were Old Orchard Beach and Range Pond. She enjoyed playing games, especially card games, with her family and friends.

She was also happy to spend the winters for 18 years with Don at Center Crest in Florida.

She met many wonderful friends there, and enjoyed all of the time she spent there.

She leaves behind and will be greatly missed by her soul mate and husband of 53 years, Arthur “Don” Paradis; her son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Cecile Paradis, of Lewiston; her daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Jeff Bean, of Corinth; her niece and her husband, Lucille and Chuck Damon, of Lisbon; her granddaughter and her husband, Melissa and Mike Wing, of Lewiston; her grandson, Zachary Beaule, of West Palm Beach, Fla.; her grandson, Jonathan Paradis and his significant other, Crystal Guerette, of Lewiston; her granddaughter, Shannon Bean, of Corinth; her grandson, Ryan Bean, of Corinth; her great-granddaughter and little angel, Morgan Wing, her grandniece, Melissa Grover of Lewiston; great-niece, Sierra and great-nephew Derek; grand-nephew, Will Damon, of Lisbon; her brother and his wife, Lionel and Jeanette Bergeron, her sister and her husband, Laurette and Raymond Dufour, her brother and his wife, Jules and Joline Bergeron, her sister-in-law, Catherine Bergeron, her sister-in-law, Henriette Bergeron, her brother-in-law, Joseph Paradis, her sister-in-law, Muriel Melanson, her sister-in-law, Marie Pepin, her sister-in-law, Gilberte Bernier; and many wonderful nieces and nephews; she also leaves behind her lifelong best friend, Simonne Sirois, of Lewiston; and Simonne’s son and his wife, Fern and Sue Sirois, of Lewiston.

She was predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Roseanna Bergeron; her brothers, Rosaire and Emile Bergeron; and her sister and friend, Grace Greenlaw.
