LISBON – “We are very pleased to announce the Lisbon Community School Student Council is up and running,” said Assistant Principal Tiffany Karnes.
The students held their first meeting on Nov. 22. Council members got right to work planning their first event, Hat Day, which took place on Dec. 7. Students who wished to wear a hat for the day were able to do so by donating $1 to the playground fund. Karnes said Hat Day was a huge success. More than $500 was raised to benefit the playground equipment fund.
Students meet on a regular basis and have many projects planned for the remainder of the school year.
