NORWAY – Evangeline M. Child, 82, of Norway died Thursday, Jan. 19, at Stephens Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Norway on Nov. 23, 1923, the daughter of C. Lindsay and Claribel Smith Morse. She graduated from Norway High School in 1941. She married Enoch B. Child on March 6, 1943.

In her younger years she was employed at local shoe shops and had been a childcare provider. She was a homemaker all of her life. She was a member of the Norway Baptist Church and was a duet singer in church with Barbara Rowe many years ago.

She is survived by her husband of Norway; a son, Randall and his companion, Pam Baker, of South Paris; a daughter, Priscilla Taylor, of Lewiston; a grandson, Christopher Mickalide, of Auburn; and four brothers, Clayton Morse, J. Daniel Morse and C. Louis Morse, all of South Paris and Paul Morse of Zephyrhills, Fla.
