SALEM, N.H. (AP) – Police said a man charged with robbing two banks in Massachusetts is a suspect in a bank robbery in Salem.

George Melendez was arrested Thursday at his home in Lowell, Mass., Thursday and was charged with bank robberies in Dracut and Lawrence during the past two weeks. He was arraigned in Lowell.

Salem Police said they suspect him in Tuesday’s robbery of a Citizens Bank branch in Salem where the robber left a package that brought the bomb squad in to investigate. Nothing harmful was found in the bag.

Police said that they tracked Melendez down because he left behind his address in a bag in one of the Massachusetts robberies.
