LEWISTON – Dorothy Mae Plummer, 83, of Mechanic Falls died Thursday, Jan. 19, at Central Maine Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Norway on Aug. 14, 1922, the daughter of Arthur and Ercel McAllister Reynolds. She was married to James N. Plummer on Oct. 7, 1939. Dot and Jim spent 66 wonderful years together.
She attended Mechanic Falls High School, worked as various local shoe shops, and was a bookkeeper for A. W. Strout for many years. She was a member of the American Legion Post 150 Auxiliary in Mechanic Falls for 22 years.
She was known for her special biscuits and was happiest surrounded by her large, loving family. She was the neighborhood “Mom.” She enjoyed fishing with her husband and her many outings to Moosehead.
She is survived by her loving husband, James N. Plummer; her 10 children, Jimmy (Ruth) Plummer, Sandra (Stacy) Ballard, Kickie (Linda Fish) Plummer, Sheila (Chub) Harris, Penny (Bud) Emery, Billy (Judy) Plummer, Ricky (Lori) Plummer, Rudy ( Sandy Paradis) Plummer, Randy (Karen) Plummer, and Claudia (Dan) Mercier; three brothers, Floyd (Polly) Reynolds, George Reynolds and Richard (Camille) Beal; two sisters, Joyce (Marchian) Crane and Karen (Dane) Hudnall; 63 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, Arthur Reynolds; her mother, Ercel Reynolds Beal: a brother, Bud Reynolds; and a granddaughter, Theresa Emery.
The Plummer family wants to say “Thank You” to the M-4 staff at Central Maine Medical Center, the Androscoggin Kidney Center staff, Clover Health Care nursing staff and her doctors for taking such good care of our Mother.
