LEWISTON – The wedding of Darcy Lael Thomas and Derek Jay Dumont was held at 11 a.m. on Aug. 20 at the Bates College Chapel. Donald Colban officiated at the ceremony.
Mrs. Dumont is the daughter of Jeffrey and Wanda Thomas of New Gloucester. Mr. Dumont is the son of Steven and Theresa Dumont of Vassalboro.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. Katie Thomas was maid of honor for her sister, and bridesmaids were Kim Leffingwell, future sister-in-law, and Ashley Travis, cousin of the bride. Miranda Thomas, cousin of the bride, was junior bridesmaid, and flower girls were Taylor and Allison Cunningham and Sadie Giles, cousins of the bridegroom.
A brother of the bridegroom, Lance Dumont, performed the duties of best man, and ushers were Michael Thomas, brother of the bride, and Matthew Bellefleur, cousin of the bride.
A reception followed at Eli’s at Turner Highlands, after which the couple went to North Conway, N.H., for a week. They are residing in Vassalboro.
The bride received a bachelor’s degree in marketing and management from Thomas College in Waterville and is employed at the Employment Times in Auburn.
The bridegroom received a bachelor’s degree in accounting and is completing a master’s degree program in business administration at Thomas College in Waterville. He is employed at Thomas College.
