THOMASTON – Kristen Arsenault scored her 1,000-career point to help Mountain Valley open an early lead, but Georges Valley roared back for a 47-43 overtime victory late Saturday night in girls’ basketball.

Arsenault surpassed the milestone on a 3-pointer in the third quarter that gave the Falcons (5-7) a nine-point lead. But Mountain Valley struggled at the foul line in the final quarter, enabling the Bucs (2-9) to tie the game.

Ashley Geel led Georges Valley with 15 points, while Amanda Buchanen and Nikki Poland had nine each. Arsenault finished with 14 points. Tanya Martin chipped in with 13 points, and Devon Allen had 11.
