PERU – Selectman Bill Hine said Monday night that the town will continue to pursue code “violation issues” involving Worthley Pond property owned by Paul Bickford.

Hine told Code Enforcement Officer Jack Plumley the case was not a closed matter and asked him to notify Bickford that the town will be proceeding.

The alleged violations involve wastewater, tree removal and conversion to a year-round residence without the proper permit.

In other news, former Selectman Dick Powell said the proposed new school and cell tower may impact the old Indian trail.

Powell also informed the board that state grants may be available for road repair, but the town should make the first contact. Chairman Andy St. Pierre asked Powell to get the necessary paperwork and report back to the board next week.

In other news, selectmen will meet with the Finance Committee on Monday, Feb. 6, at the Fire Department. There will be an informational meeting on the town warrant at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, at the school. There will be a public hearing on the town warrant at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, at the school. The annual town meeting is scheduled for Saturday, March 18.
