LEWISTON – Due to high ticket demand, The Public Theatre has extended its production of “Bad Dates,” adding an additional weekend of shows. There will be three extra performances of this comedy at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Feb 10 and 11, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb 12, extending its production dates from Jan. 27 to Feb 12.

Written by Boston playwright Theresa Rebeck, whose writing credits include “NYPD Blue,” “L.A. Law” and “Dream On,” “Bad Dates” enjoyed a recent successful Off-Broadway run.

This one-woman show starring Boston-based actress Julie Jirousek “is not just for people who are single or dating, nor is it a male-bashing event,” said director Janet Mitchko. “It’s an optimistic comedy that reminds us that the universe is looking out for us, especially at the moments we most want to turn on our well-shod heels and run.”

Tickets are $16 for adults; and $14 for students and seniors with a group rate of $12.50 for 10 or more people.

For tickets, phone the box office at 782-3200.
