CARRIERE, Miss. – Robert Stephen Rushton, 64, died Sunday, Dec. 4, at his residence in Carriere.

A native of Canada, he was born April 3, 1941. He was an oceanographer and a member of the First Baptist Church in Picayune, Miss. He was retired after 41 years of service and was married to Donna Dean Rushton for 38 years.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Dean Rushton, of Carriere; his mother, Phyllis Polleys Hachey, of Lewiston; one son, Rob Rushton and his wife, Shaw, of Vicksburg, Miss.; one daughter, Bethany Rushton Easterling and her husband, Terry Easterling, of Vicksburg, Miss.; one brother, Bill Hachey, of Lewiston; and four grandchildren, Tristan and Peyton Rushton and Tyler and Colten Easterling.
