LEWISTON – Donald Linscott, AARP tax-aide district administrator, has announced the AARP sites that will open Wednesday, Feb. 1, for the e-filing of 2005 federal and state tax returns.

Auburn: Wednesdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., except March 8 and 15, at the Auburn VFW, 588 Minot Ave. Appointments, call 784-3024 and leave name and telephone number.

Farmington: Recreation Center, Thursdays, March 2 through April 6, 9 a.m. to noon, except March 23. Appointments required, phone 778-9059, Cindy Coulombe.

Lewiston: Multi-Purpose Center, 145 Birch St., Mondays and Thursdays 3 to 6 p.m., Fridays noon to 4:30 p.m., Saturdays 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Senior Citizens room.

If school is canceled, there will be no tax preparation and appointments will have to be rescheduled.

The free service helps taxpayers with low and middle income, with special emphasis on those 60 and older.

The program does not have income limits; instead the complexity of the return dictates whether a return can be prepared.
