LEWISTON – The Bates College women’s hockey team is presenting a Rock n Skate fund-raiser today from 6:15-8 p.m. at Underhill Arena.

The event features a disc jockey, skating, games and dancing. Admission is $3 for youngsters and students and $5 for adults.

Proceeds will benefit the Bates club hockey team. Last year, the Bates women placed 13th nationally in the American Collegiate Hockey Association. This season the team is hoping to earn a ticket to the nationals by finishing in the top 12.

Immediate goal is to advance to the league playoffs (Eastern Collegiate Women’s Hockey League) at the end of February.

Auburn Youth League

AUBURN – The Auburn Mites Tidal Waves went 1-2 in during weekend action. Auburn earned a 7-2 victory over Rockport as Kenton Ernest popped 4 goals. Nick Hemond added 2 and Cameron Berube 1. Tynan Collins and Sam Woddard each received 2 assists. Shuler Lamothe, Bryson Geary, Jacob Baggs and Berube added 1 each. Alex Landry was the winning goalie. . . The Tidal Waves dropped a 6-1 deicsion to Rockport White. Ernest tallied the lone goal. Collins was between the pipes. . . Auburn suffered a tough 3-2 loss to the Western Maine Mites. Ernest netted both goals, with Berube serving as goalie.
