LEWISTON – Lewiston’s Joe Stachowiak drained a game-high 14 points to lead Lewiston to a 46-37 victory over Morse in boys’ basketball Saturday.

The Blue Devils (8-6) were down by three at halftime, but tighted up their defense, holding Morse to just 10 points in the second half. Jared Turcotte chipped in with 11 points for Lewiston.

Josh Tuplin and John Kidney combined for 17 points for Morse.

Camden Hills 80, Oak Hill 46

CAMDEN HILLS – Gordon Fischer led a balanced attack by popping in 15 points as Camden Hills defeated Oak Hill 80-46 in a KVAC basketball game.

Christian Pieri added 11 points while Doug Bryant and Cameron Poles both chipped in with 10 for Camden Hills (8-6). Mike Eaton led the Raiders (0-14) with 14 points.

Oxford Hills 56, Cony 42

SOUTH PARIS – Ben Ryerson tossed in 15 points and Mike Foley netted 10 to help Oxford Hills cruise to a 56-42 win over Cony in boys’ basketball.

Chris McVety added eight points and eight rebounds for the Vikings (8-7), who led 32-19 at the half and controlled the game throughout.

Andrew Pullen led the Rams (4-10) with 19 points while John DeMerchant chipped in with 10.

Maranacook 55, MCI 51

PITTSFIELD – Ryan Martin scored 19 points to power Maranacook to a 55-51 victory over MCI in an MVC boys’ basketball matchup.

Jim Palmer added 12 points, including a pair of 3-pointers for the Black Bears (14-1).

Victor Quint scored a team-high 19 points for MCI (10-4), while Andy Tracey added 17 and Cody Hart added 10.

Gould 74, Islesboro 25

BETHEL – Senior forward Thomas Kuemmel drained 15 points as Gould drowned Islesboro 74-25 in WMC boys’ basketball action Saturday.

The Huskies (4-5) came out with a strong press in the first period to put the game away within five minutes of playing time. Gould took a 32-7 lead after one.

Junior guard T.L. Tutor scored 12 points, while Ian Siekman notched a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds to help maintain the lead throughout.

The Eagles were kept to single-digit scoring in each quarter, while the Huskies dropped their scoring prowess in increments of lucky seven, 21 in the second, 14 in the third and seven in the fourth. Senior center Luke Thomas led the Eagles with nine points, while Armin Coronado connected for two field goals from beyond the arc for six points in the loss.

Hockey

Bonny Eagle 6, G-NG/Poland 5

HEBRON – Nate Jewell registered a hat trick as Bonny Eagle beat Gray-New Gloucester/Poland 6-5 in boys’ hockey Saturday.

Jewell notched two of his goals in the third period to break a 4-4 tie. J.T. Norton scored a pair of goals for the Scots.

Cody Bradway made 17 saves to collect the win in goal.

Ryan Gilbert paced the Patriotic Knights with four goals and an assist.

Dylan Michaud added three assists. Sean Bilodeau turned away 26 shots.
