The liberals have gone so completely off their rockers. I don’t even know where to start.

There are the environmentalists who want so desperately to preserve every piece of land on this planet that they will shoot down something as beautiful in form and function as a wind farm, and in the same breath bark about how “big oil” is evil and we have too much dependence on them. Three words: Self-fulfilling prophecy. If you won’t let anyone build any power or fuel-producing plants anywhere in the U.S., guess what? We will never become independent of foreign oil. Conservation will never result in a net reduction of our consumption.

Then there are the Judge Alito-haters, who weep about a “radical conservative” nation in which terrorists and illegal aliens have no rights, people are judged by the content of their character and private property is not seized by government to raise tax revenue. Yeah, sounds like an awful place to me.

And then there’s the always entertaining (though always wrong) Molly Ivins. Her column Jan. 23 sums up the so-called intelligent thinking of the left: “… turn on them like a snarling dog or you could just piss on them.” Nice. Sounds like the intelligent, highly educated and enlightened party to me.

Too bad liberals don’t listen to someone such as Sen. Joe Lieberman, but he has more common sense, respect and dignity than hatred, so he’ll be ignored instead.

Pity.
