AUBURN – United Way of Greater Portland has a free dedicated volunteering Web site that allows volunteers to find the perfect opportunity. Visit the United Way of Greater Portland at www.volunteersolutins.org/uwgp to find out more about the volunteering program, and Pottle Hill’s volunteer opportunities.

Pottle Hill Inc. relies on volunteers to augment staff time. Activities can include reading, teaching crafts or accompany people on outings. Pottle Hill also holds a road race each year where volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks.

The race will take place on Saturday, June 24, in Mechanic Falls, celebrating the 25th anniversary of Pottle Hill. To learn more about volunteering at Pottle Hill, visit the above Web site, call 753-1457 or e-mail pottle@megalink.net.

Pottle Hill is a progressive nonprofit organization that provides services to people with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities. Two programs are offered: Pottle Works, a work and work training program for people from high school graduation age to retirement, and the W.T. Twarog Senior Enrichment Center, a day program for people of retirement age. An outreach program is also offered for people who cannot attend the day program.
