ORLANDO, Fla. – Chris Webber scored 18 points and John Salmons added 17 to help the Philadelphia 76ers beat the Orlando Magic 89-81 on Sunday.

The 76ers played without Allen Iverson, who missed his second straight game with a sprained left ankle. Iverson, second in the NBA in scoring at 33.6 points per game, is day-to-day.

Webber had two key jumpers during an 8-0 run late in the game that pushed Philadelphia to its fifth win in six games. Samuel Dalembert had 15 points and eight rebounds.

Steve Francis had a triple-double for the Magic with 22 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, but Orlando struggled on offense the entire game. The Magic hit just five of 18 field goals in the fourth quarter and two of those were conceded layups in the final 25 seconds.

Dwight Howard added 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Magic, who lost at home for the first time in eight games.

Neither team could sustain much offensively in the first half when only one player from each side reached double figures. Salmons had 13 points and three assists, but the Sixers biggest advantage was just 32-28 with 5:56 left in the half.

Francis had 10 points for the Magic, including a three-point play with 1:05 to play in the second that put Orlando up 45-39. That was Orlando’s largest lead, but the Sixers scored the last five points to make it 45-44 at halftime.

It was more of the same in the second half. Back-to-back baskets by Tony Battie gave the Magic a 55-48 lead with 7:37 left in the third quarter. Philadelphia then went back in front with a 13-2 run and led 65-64 heading into the final quarter.

The Magic didn’t score a field goal in the first 5:27 of the fourth, but Philadelphia couldn’t take advantage of the drought. Keyon Dooling’s 20-foot jumper with 6:33 left was Orlando’s first field goal and it tied the game at 71.

The Sixers finally seized control, scoring eight straight points to go up 83-75 with 59 seconds to play. Andre Iguodala’s free throw ended the run that was aided by two steals and a blocked shot.

Notes: Webber had a season-high eight assists. … Magic PG Jameer Nelson missed his fourth straight game because of a sprained foot. Nelson is expected to be ready for Wednesday’s home game against the Clippers. … Sixers’ backup F Matt Barnes also missed the game with a sprained left ankle. … Kevin Ollie, Iverson’s replacement in the starting lineup, had a season-high 12 points.
