LEWISTON – A longtime downtown company will be moving into the former Bob’s Discount building on outer Lisbon Street.

Steel Service Center, which has operated from the old Maine Central railroad station on Bates Street for 38 years, will use the 40,000-square-foot building as its new home. The company supplies steel products to the construction and metal fabricating industries.

Robert Roy Jr., owner of Steel Service Center, purchased the building and the nearly 14 acres it sits on Jan. 13. It also was once a Coca-Cola warehouse and distribution plant.
