ATLANTA – Al Harrington scored 26 points and the Atlanta Hawks pulled away in the second half for their biggest win of the season, a 120-101 rout of the turnover-plagued New York Knicks on Monday night.

New York’s Antonio Davis was set to return from a five-game suspension, handed down by the NBA after he charged into the stands in defense of his wife at Chicago. But Davis was a late scratch from the starting lineup because of a sore back.

Cavaliers 103, Bobcats 91

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – LeBron James scored 30 points in only three quarters to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 103-91 victory over the gimpy Charlotte Bobcats.

The win improved the Cavaliers to 5-0 against the Bobcats, while extending Charlotte’s franchise record losing streak to 12 games.

Heat 118, Clippers 114

MIAMI – The Miami Heat sank their final eight free throws – including three by Shaquille O’Neal – and beat the Los Angeles Clippers 118-114. Miami won with hot shooting from the field early, and from the free-throw line in the final 31/2 minutes.

Grizzlies 86, Rockets 77

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Chucky Atkins scored 19 points in his first start for Memphis and the Grizzlies defeated Houston 86-77, despite the return of Yao Ming to the Rockets’ lineup.

Atkins, released from the Washington Wizards, signed with Memphis a week ago.

Atkins signed with Memphis a week ago. Inserted into the starting lineup after four games coming off the bench, he responded by hitting his first two shots of the game.
