BRATTLEBORO, Vt. (AP) – FiberMark Inc., a producer of specialty paper products, has laid off a dozen employees.

Most of the jobs eliminated Tuesday were held by managers.

Chief Financial Officer John Hanley said the layoffs were “related to ongoing reconstructing efforts,” and affected all six FiberMark operations in the United States.

In addition to the Brattleboro corporate headquarters, the company has facilities in Brownville and Lowville, N.Y., Quakertown and Reading, Pa., and Warren Glen, N.J.

Hanley would not disclose the total number of layoffs at the six facilities.

FiberMark has employed about 200 people in Brattleboro. The company has laid off one-third of its management staff in Brattleboro since the start of the year as part of a restructuring effort after the company emergency from Chapter 11 bankruptcy as a private company.

FiberMark is now mostly owned by Connecticut-based Silver Point Capital.

FiberMark produces commercial paper products like vacuum bags and paper for wallpaper and CD covers. The company operates 11 facilities in the eastern United States and Europe.
