RUMFORD – Two local playwrights, Duane Glover of Rumford and Nancy O. DeMilner of Peru, have conspired together to write a mystery dinner theater show called “The Award Show.” It’s a spoof on award shows in general, wrapped up in a murder mystery to be played during dinner. It will be presented Feb. 23, 24 and 25 at Teena’s restaurant.

Everyone who sees the show will become part of the show business for the night, and anyone can win an award. Audience members will get to solve the murder mystery and vote for the Best Picture Award.

The writing duo originally wrote “The Award Show” as a writing job for The Nashoba Community Theatre in Massachusetts, but they were so pleased with the results of the script, and the successful run in Nashoba, that they teamed up with Teena’s to do the show locally.

Teena’s will offer two special dinner choices for the show: The Emmy, baked haddock; and The Oscar, baked chicken with savory stuffing. Both entrees will be served with an apple nut salad, baked potato, vegetable medley and dessert.

Tickets are $25 per person for dinner and the show. They are on sale at Scrapper’s Domain on Canal Street. FMI: call DeMilner at 562-7735.
