AUBURN – A Lewiston man pleaded not guilty Friday to 11 counts of having and sharing child pornography.

Pushed in a wheelchair into Androscoggin County Superior Court, Lawrence Frabizio, 62, of Spoffard Street listened as the judge read the charges against him.

They include four counts of dissemination of sexually explicit materials, all Class B felonies and seven counts of possession of sexually explicit materials, all Class C felonies. If found guilty on all counts, he could face up to 75 years in prison.

He was booked at the Androscoggin County Jail and released on his own recognizance. Androscoggin County Superior Court Justice Ellen Gorman ordered him not to use a computer, not to have pornography and not to use the Internet.

In 2004, America OnLine tipped off police in Connecticut that one of their subscribers had sent e-mail with attached photographs of apparent child pornography, according to court records.

Connecticut State Police seized the computer of the a resident in that state that contained files of stored e-mails from someone with the e-mail address “wfemflo777@aol.com.” Those e-mails included images of “children engaged in sexual acts or displaying their genitalia in a lewd manner,” court records said.

In May 2005, a federal subpoena turned up Frabizio’s name as the sender of those images. A month later, Lewiston police visited Frabizio at his Meadowview apartment and noticed he had a computer.

A search warrant issued to Lewiston police yielded a computer, seven CDs and an 8 mm videotape.

Many of the images sent by Frabizio were identified as victims of child pornography known to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, records said.

The 11 counts cover a span of four months of Internet transmissions. All of the victims were identified as being younger than 12 years old.
