TURNER – Junior center Kelsey Nicolas notched a double-double as Edward Little stung Leavitt with a 55-45 win in KVAC girls’ basketball action Saturday.

Nicolas drained 14 points and hauled down 12 rebounds, while senior guard Kate Dargie added 11 points for the Red Eddies (6-10). Brittney French nailed 5-of-6 from the line in the late going to turn back a Leavitt rally. French had a game-high 17 points on three field goals and 11 points from the charity stripe.

Junior center Brittany Duncan paced the Hornets (0-16) with 10 points on four field goals and a pair of free throws.

Gould 41, Seacoast 37

BETHEL – Heather Kelleher keyed a second-half comeback by scoring a career-high 30 points to lead Gould to a 41-37 triumph over Seacoast Christian.

With her team trailing by five at halftime, Kelleher scored 10 of Gould’s 13 points in the third quarter when the Huskies took the lead. Kelleher then helped Gould seal the win by hitting 7-of-8 foul shots down the stretch.

Liz Trafton led Seacoast with 14 points.

Rangeley 49, Buckfield 38

RANGELEY – Rangeley sank 27 of 45 attempts from the foul line to hold off Buckfield 49-38 in girls’ basketball Saturday.

Ashley Morton went seven for eight from the line, while Abby Madeira sank all four attempts. Ashley Quimby led all players with 15 points and Hayley White added 14 for the Lakers (12-4).

Lindsay Henderson led the Bucks (8-8) with nine points.
